Bid on art donated by over 80 children's book illustrators from all over the country! We also have signed books from President Jimmy Carter and Former First Lady Laura Bush. It's all about Literacy, Diversity and Artistry.

The Bacon Free Library Board of Trustees is excited to announce it is hosting an online Children’s Illustrators Auction.

The auction, which will serve as the Library’s fall fundraiser, is a celebration of the diversity and artistry found in children’s stories and will feature more than 100 illustrations from picture books, graphic novels and chapter books.

There is something for all ages!

The Bacon Free Library is highlighting weekly sneak peeks of the artwork on its blog and will open the full gallery at 9:00 AM on Monday, October 26th.

The online auction will run from Sunday, November 1st, 8:00 PM (EST) to Sunday, November 15th, 8:00 PM (EST) at: http://baconfreelibrary.org/childrens-illustrators-auction/.

The artwork, which has been donated by illustrators from the US, Canada and parts of Europe, showcases a wide variety of characters, both old and new.

Patrons will delight in discovering familiar faces in books by Sandra Boynton, David McPhail, Mercer Mayer, Steven Kellogg, and Diane DeGroat, as well as one of kind pieces that artists such as Kate Feiffer and Rob Harrell have specially created for the auction.

In addition, there will be signed poems by Jane Yolen, a children’s picture book signed by Former President Jimmy Carter and a picture book that will be personalized to the winner and signed by Former First Lady Laura Bush.

The community is also invited to preview the art and meet some of the illustrators, such as Braden Lamb of Adventure Time and Calef Brown of We Go Together!, on Sunday, November 1st, 3:00 - 5:00 PM at the John Eliot Memorial Hall, 40 Eliot Street, Natick, MA.
