Bird Park is going to the dogs!

Bird Park is always a popular place for our canine friends, but Dog Day is a can’t-miss event for dogs, their owners, and those who just enjoy spending time in the park.

This year, the Trustees is partnering with Golden Opportunities for Independence (GOFIDOG), a Walpole-based nonprofit with a mission to empower people with a disability to live a more fulfilling life with the love and assistance of a dog and a mentor.

To support GOFIDOG and the park, Dog Day kicks off with a 2-mile (or shorter) fundraising “Walk for Pooches & Parks,” led by Resource Officer Tommy Hart and “Rebel,” Walpole Public Schools’ beloved service dog.

Of course, all pooches are welcome to join in (if they're on-leash & well-behaved with people and other dogs).

All proceeds directly benefit GOFIDOG and Bird Park.

And there's lots of post-walk fun to be had!

After the walk, be amazed by the Flying High Dogs who perform a variety of awesome and entertaining tricks.

If you have a dog with talent, then enter our very silly 'Best in Show' competition or enjoy some of our free activities — make a dog craft, enjoy the 'Dog Fun Fact' walk, or go poolside with your dog at one of the 'doggie' ('kiddie') pools.

You also can check out a GOFIDOG demonstration and see how these amazing dogs assist folks living with a disability.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Dog-related vendors on site.

Enjoying Bird Park with some four-legged friends is always a good time, but Dog Day may be the best time!
