ANIKAYA works with underprivileged communities and artists around the world, including refugee and migrant communities, dancers with disabilities and Deaf performing artists in over 20 countries on 5 continents.
Some ongoing partnerships include Art au dela du handicap, a dance organization that serves Deaf youth in Burkina Faso; TranSformS, a training program for Deaf dancers in Mali; Santoshpur Anuchintan, a queer theater company in Kolkata, India that serves LGBTQ and other marginalized communities; and Dance On and On, a Beijing organization that serves a wide range of communities, from seniors to immigrants to people with disabilities.
Arts funding in the US has been decimated this year, including funding for arts-based programming here at home and funding for cultural exchange that was once supported by the US Department of State around the world.
ANIKAYA, like many arts organizations, must now look to our community for direct support as we continue to pursue our mission of forging connection across cultures, identities, and borders through shared dance experiences.
