The Harvard Lions in cooperation with Fruitlands are running a free community event to throw out the winter blues and awaken the orchards. The event is filled with family friendly activities and will be held at Fruitlands Museum 102 Prospect Hill Road Harvard MA 01451 on February 29, 2020. Time is Noon to 6:00 PM.
Many Harvard organizations are coming together to make this a fun event for all ages!
Activities are outside, and so are the firepits. But come inside the heated barn for food and drinks and kick up your heels with the live music of: Lola Sweet!
The 2020 Winter Fest 5K Fun Run
Come and join the 5K Fun Run at the 2020 Winter Fest in Harvard, MA. Every runner will not only get in a good workout, you will will also get a $5 coupon toward food/drinks at the Winter Fest and a little surprise at the finish line.
This is a beautiful 5K course near Fruitlands Museum, starting at 1pm and organized by the local Harvard Lions Club. Check out the race course and register for only $20, including a $5 food/drink coupon for the Winterfest.
Human Sled Dog Races
Get your team of 5 together and register to race! Four of you pull the 5th person in the sled. Challenge your friends, neighbors, and competitors! We provide the sleds, you provide the dogpower! Maximun 20 teams. All racers are required to sign this WAIVER and email it to us or bring it with you. We will have waivers on site as well.
Wassailing the Orchard
Join our torchlight parade to drive the evil spirits away as we encourage a stellar 2019 apple harvest! We will be wassailing the orchard, an old English tradition where the apple trees are sung to so that the harvest will be healthy and plentiful! We will provide the cider to wassail the orchard. Please RSVP so we have enough cider.
Guided Nature Walks
Learn about what nature has to offer at the Prospect Hill Orchard Farm. The Harvard Garden Club will be conducting a nature walk around the orchard. Length will be about an hour. Guided tours will leave at 2 pm and 4 pm. Please RSVP here so we can determine how many guides we need.
