Beverly Main Streets is pleased to announce on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, one of the busiest shopping periods of the year, American Express created Small Business Saturday to encourage people to bring their holiday shopping to local community businesses.
This holiday is the highlight of the Shop Small® movement which began eight years ago.
Shopping small is better for the local economy, better for the environment, better for Beverly.
Much of the sales and meals taxes you pay come back to Beverly in the form of local aid.
Shopping small has many personal benefits as well.
It provides a more personalized shopping experience because of the better customer service and attention a smaller staff can give.
Small businesses invest in the local community through volunteer work, in-kind contributions and donations to charities and community organizations.
About 15 businesses are participating this year, by giving away free tote bags and other fun “Shop Small” giveaways.
The free bags and other fun items are first come, first served.
Many other downtown businesses will also be open.
Grab a friend, come out and show your love for downtown Beverly’s small businesses on November 24th.
Beverly Main Streets encourages you to shop small everyday of the year.
