3-starGood Time At Festival
As East Boston residents, my 7 year old son and I walked to the festival from our home on Saturday evening. Games, kiddie rides, fried food, and ice-cold lemonade beckoned as soon as we reached Central Square. People of all ages were visiting the booths lining the square. You could buy silver jewelry, fried calamari, or check out plans for the new YMCA. Folks were also crowding around a stage where an eating contest was taking place (we couldn't get close enough to see what exactly the contestants had to eat). After a while, the heat and humidity slowed us down so we sat on a wall and people watched while sharing a cherry slush. Satisfied that we had seen everything, we headed for home.
