Get back to nature and back to basics with a fun, family-friendly outdoor skills workshop.

This program for all ages will introduce you to fire building without matches and how to use the fire to prepare delicious camping treats.

You’ll learn to start a fire using a variety of methods and materials, and how to fully extinguish the fire when you’re done.

During the program, you’ll take a leisurely guided walk along the footpaths and trails of Rocky Woods, followed by making hot rock cocoa, traditional s’mores and “adult” s’mores (made with brie and crackers), over the matchless fire you’ve helped to build.

Please dress for the weather and wear shoes appropriate for hiking on uneven and possibly muddy terrain.

Your guide will be Trustees Ranger Bob, a naturalist, local scoutmaster and friendly guide devoted to sharing the wonders of the outdoors.
