New York Times bestselling author Paul Greenberg who wrote “American Catch: The Fight for Our Local Seafood,” and Alex Hay, CEO of the popular Cape Cod restaurant, Mac’s Seafood, will discuss Americans’ relationship with local seafood.

As more of us become health conscious and realize the benefits of eating fish, we also need help re-building the infrastructure to support local fishing to ensure the protection of these natural resources.

Citing examples from Bristol Bay, Alaska’s salmon to New York City’s oysters, learn more about how you can protect the ocean with the choices you make in the grocery store.

Greenberg and Hay will talk about how consumers can support their local seafood better.

Located on Cape Cod since 1995, Mac’s Seafood is a family business that has been buying local seafood since its founding.

The Aquarium hosts a series of informative free lectures, films, and discussions for the community.

The Lowell Institute supports the lectures.

Most are available on the Aquarium’s YouTube channel afterward.

Pre-registration is encouraged on the Aquarium’s website at: http://www.neaq.org/education_and_activities/programs_and_classes/aquarium_lecture_series/index.php or call 617-973-5200 for more information.

The fall lecture series runs through Dec.
