hydrangea festival photoThe annual Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival returns with a 10-day festival celebrating the iconic plant that makes the Cape so stunning during the summer.

When you visit, pick up or download our self-guided tour through the grounds to discover more about Heritages’ 8 species of hydrangeas and over 170 exceptional cultivars.

Special daily activities include:

- 10 am-5 pm – Self-Guided Walking Tour: Discover hydrangea highlights while learning about each of the six major species of this signature plant

- 11-11:30 am – 30-Minute Hydrangea Guided Tour: Guides share the story of hydrangeas at Heritage and highlight spectacular specimens during this walking tour of both the Display Garden and the Test Garden (tours meet at the Cape Cod Hydrangea Society Display Garden)

On Saturday, July 11 this tour will be American Sign Language (ASL) interpreted.
11:30 am-3 pm – Hydrangea Discovery Cart: Learn tips for identifying, selecting, and caring for all six types of commonly-grown hydrangeas

Get your hydrangea questions answered by Cape Cod Hydrangea Society volunteers in the gardens

All extra hydrangea-focused activities are free with museum admission or membership. No advance registration is required.

- Learn to identify and care for your hydrangeas at our hands-on Garden Discovery Cart
- Take home one, or more, of these signature plants from the special plant sale
- Just for kids & families: fun activity guide highlighting these amazing plants

Conveniently located off Route 6, below are driving directions from all points.

From Boston: Take the Southeast expressway (Route 93 South) to Route 3 South. Follow over the Sagamore Bridge to Route 6 East. Follow directions below from Route 6 East.

From Hyannis: Follow Route 6 West to exit 2 (Sandwich/Route 130 N). Follow directions below from Route 130 N.

From the West: Follow Route 25 South over the Bourne Bridge. At the bridge rotary, take Route 6/6A toward Sagamore. At the traffic light, turn right onto Route 6 East.

From Providence/New York: Follow 95 North. Take the exit for I-195 East Providence (exit 20). Follow I-195 East to the Cape Cod/The Islands exit (exit 22A). Take the exit onto Route 25 South. Follow same directions from the West.

Follow Route 6 to exit 2 (Sandwich/Route 130 N)
Bear left as you come down the exit ramp and merge with Route 130
Continue on Route 130 for about 1.5 miles
Turn left onto Grove Street
Follow Grove Street .8 miles and the entrance to Heritage will be on the left.
