Lecture by JFK Park Ranger from the JFK Birthplace in Brookline on the life of President Kennedy using postage stamps. Gallery exhibit of these stamps and more. Children make their own presidents on stamps collection.

As the nation celebrates the centennial of President John F. Kennedy’s birth, the Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History at Regis College in Weston honors our thirty-fifth president with an exhibit of stamps commemorating his life.

To celebrate the opening of the exhibit Mr. Jim Roberts, Supervisory Park Ranger/Chief of Visitor Services at John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site in Brookline will give a free talk on Thursday, June 8 at 7:30 pm.

He will discuss all the efforts both in the United States and countries worldwide that have been taken to commemorate and memorialize JFK through postal stamps, cachets and other philatelic material over the past fifty years.

Roberts’ talk will discuss many of the stamps in the exhibit and how they relate to Kennedy’s life plus he will outline the many activities happening all this year for the centennial anniversary.

The program will begin at 7:30 with the galleries opening at 6:30 for viewing of the exhibit

The exhibit, which will run until September 30, will also allow children to make their own free collection of both Kennedy stamps and stamps that have honored all our past presidents.

Roberts, prior to arriving at the Brookline site in 2010, served for thirteen years at Lowell National Historical Park as a national park guide and ranger.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Jim studied fine art at Boston University and graphic design at U.C.

Berkeley in CA.

Before joining the National Park Service in 1997, he worked in advertising and hospitality for Marriott, Hilton, and Double Tree/Guest Quarters Suites hotels.

2017 marks Jim's 20th anniversary with the National Park Service.
