Join Norman B. Leventhal Map and Education Center’s Curator of Maps and Director of Geographic Scholarship Garrett Dash Nelson on Wed., May 19 at 12 noon EDT for a virtual discussion with guest speaker Dr. Luis Alvarez León, Ph.D. on how maps and other geographic data underpin the digital economy.

Dr. Alvarez León is Assistant Professor of Geography at Dartmouth College and a political economic geographer whose work focuses on the political economy of geospatial data, media, and technologies.

This discussion is part of the Leventhal’s online conversation series “Angles on Bending Lines: How Data Can Warp Our World” which centers on the biases and distortions that lurk within data sets and are reflected in the results and policies they often inform.
