Centered around the life and work of Black, disabled 20th-century composer Julia Perry, Castle of our Skins, in partnership with MassArt, presents a free panel discussion featuring disability advocates, musicians, and scholars, including Christopher Robinson, Keith Jones, Adrian Anantawan and Berklee professor Aja Burrell Wood.

Artists, advocates, and allies are invited to imagine with us how arts and dialogue can build actionable awareness on issues faced by creators of various intersecting identities.

This panel discussion is part of a multi-pronged 100th birthyear tribute (which includes performances at the Tanglewood Learning Institute and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum) designed to use arts and dialogue as a vehicle to build actionable awareness on issues faced by artists of various intersecting identities.

REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION REQUESTS: MassArt does not discriminate on the basis of disability, and is committed to providing accessible programs, meetings, and events to facilitate participation.

A guest or outside organization must notify MassArt of any request for a disability accommodation in advance of the event.

Late accommodation requests, or requests made the day of the event, may not be possible to provide.

Send requests to [email protected]

This event is proudly co-presented by Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt), the only publicly funded independent art school in the country, and similarly committed to harnessing the transformative power of creativity to inspire individuals, strengthen communities, and enrich our shared experience.
