Museums, particularly historic house museums, have a long history of commissioning landscape architects, who design and plan outdoor spaces by blending art, science, and environmental considerations.

But how might these outdoor spaces be understood when considering neighbors?

This conversation brings together three leading experts in landscape design to interrogate the ways in which landscape design is crucial for creating spaces that are not only functional, meaningful, and well-loved by the people who use them, but reflective of a community’s needs and cultural values.
