The Boston Landmarks Orchestra was founded in 2001 by the late Charles Ansbacher as an extension of his desire to make the arts a significant part of people’s lives, regardless of their wealth or education.

The annual “green” concert offers music of brilliant colors and cooling shades on a late summer evening.

Der Freischütz, an early masterpiece of Romantic opera, unfolds in a fairy-tale forest.

Françaix’s oboe concerto depicts a clock assembled from diverse flowers, each blooming at a different hour.

Simon Parmet said of Sibelius’s 2nd Symphony, “It is a song of praise to summer and the joy of living.”
