Please join us on Saturday, September 27 at 7:00pm for a recital of art songs given by J.P.

Christian Milde, tenor, and Cathy Meyer, piano, featuring musical settings of poetry by Robert Louis Stevenson and William Shakespeare.

Songs by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Alan Hovhaness, Roger Quilter, Gerald Finzi, and Amy Beach will all be performed, including Vaughan Williams’ well-loved setting of Stevenson’s Songs of Travel, and Gerald Finzi’s beautiful cycle of Shakespeare poems, Let Us Garlands Bring.

Also featured will be Amy Beach’s rarely heard Three Shakespeare Songs as well as several uncommon and out-of-print songs by Roger Quilter, including his setting of poems from Stevenson’s charming collection, A Child’s Garden of Verses.

Admission is free; however, donations are appreciated.

The concert will last 80 minutes including a brief intermission, and will be followed by a reception with the performers.
