Viol Concert Honors Music School Founder Ellen Powers

The Viola da Gamba Society of New England (VdGS-NE) will present a free concert following its autumn workshop on Saturday, November 8, at 7:00 p.m., at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 17 Clark Street, Belmont.

The concert, titled “The Dow Part Books,” is presented as part of Powers Music School’s 50th Anniversary year, and remembers Ellen Huff Powers, a founding member of both Powers and the VdGS-NE.

Faculty and participants of the viola da gamba workshop will join vocal group Convivium Musicum and group Director Michael Barrett to perform motets, hymns, psalms, secular songs, and instrumental music.

Admission is free, and all are welcome.
