Before even earning her degree from the Manhattan School of Music, Monheit thrust herself into the public eye with a 2nd place finish at the highly prestigious Thelonious Monk Jazz Institute’s vocal competition.
Two years later, at the age of 22, she released her debut record Never Never Land that boasted appearances from jazz legends like Kenny Barron, Ron Carter, Bucky Pizzarelli and others.
She has since released nine more records, including last year’s critically-acclaimed The Heart of the Matter.
Monheit has been nominated for two Grammy’s and has toured the world’s finest jazz halls with her trio.
This will be her second performance in Rockport.
