Known for his earnest, heart-on sleeve balladry, folk pop songwriter Edwin McCain has enjoyed a lengthy career since the mid 90’s, mostly due to the success of his smash hit single “I’ll Be”

A native of Greenville, South Carolina, Edwin McCain started playing small clubs around the South in the early 90’s, often alongside friends and South Carolina neighbors Hootie & the Blowfish.

Like Hootie, McCain also signed with Atlantic Records, releasing his debut record Honor Among Thieves in 1994.

The success of the single “Solitude” which made the rounds on VH1, paved the way for his breakout sophomore album, 1998’s Misguided Roses.
