Lecture and concert premiere by Long & Away, a consort of viols, celebrating the release of its first CD, a collection of sacred concerti by Bohemian composer Samuel Capricornus.

Professor Sarah Mead of Brandeis University will present insights on the life, times and music of Capricornus (1628-1665).

The ensemble will perform three selections from the CD in the Goethe Institut's gorgeous 19th-century ballroom, then enjoy a glass of bubbly with our guests!

Sarah Mead, director and lecturer Martin Near, alto; Jason McStoots, tenor; Paul Guttry, bass Karen Burciaga, Anne Legêne, Jane Hershey, James Williamson, viols Catherine Liddell, theorbo; Frances Conover Fitch, organ

The CD is now available through our website, www.longandaway.com.
