The Boston Philharmonic Orchestra will open its 36th season on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 8pm with two epic masterpieces--Strauss’s Also sprach Zarathustra, and Holst’s The Planets, conducted by Benjamin Zander with the Radcliffe Choral Society.

Mr. Zander also shares his thoughts on the program in a pre-concert talk at 6:45pm.

Both pieces feature the Aeolian-Skinner organ, Opus 1134, designed by G.

Donald Harrison, the preeminent American organ builder during the first half of the twentieth century, and is regarded by the organ builders and acousticians as one of the very best marriages between an organ and the space in which it functions.
Benjamin Zander, conductor and founder of the ensembles, is available for interviews surrounding the performances.

Both ensembles rehearse in Boston leading up to the performances, and we would welcome the opportunity to host you at a rehearsal for interviews, photos, or videos.

Here's a sample of Benjamin speaking during his TED Talk on classical music, which has been viewed more than 7 million times.

Please also let me know if you'd like to review either or both performances and I will be happy to place press tickets on hold for you
