Howarth will be accompanied by Brookline Music School faculty member Valerie Thompson, cello; guests Kathryn Fields, soprano; and board member Yukiko Egozy, piano.
“Music Inspired by Words │Words Inspired by Music” is the product of collected poetry and quotes inspired by music.
Repertoire will include a piece for horn, soprano, and piano, which highlights the connections that are forged between individuals by live performance titled, “Connect All.
We All Connect.” by local composer Oliver Caplan and Master Palindromist Barry Duncan; “A Psalm of Life” by Tufts graduate student Meg Connolly, inspired by the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem of the same name; and improvisation based on words submitted by audience members and pre-selected text.
Audience members will have the opportunity to participate by offering language on which to base improvisation during the performance, and by adding themselves to a Connections Map, which relates to the subject matter of Oliver Caplan’s “Connect All.
