Join CORO ALLEGRO, Boston’s LGBTQ+ and allied classical chorus, and Artistic Director David Hodgkins for 'We Will Rise,' featuring the world premiere of Rage Against the tyrant(s) by acclaimed Syrian American composer Kareem Roustom, on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 3:00pm, at Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre, 45 Quincy Street, Cambridge.

Based on street chants of the “Arab Spring” and Arab American poetry, Roustom’s work bears witness to tyranny, both foreign and domestic, and the human cost of the wars that have driven so many refugees from their homelands.

It is paired with the East Coast premiere of Songs of Ascent by American composer Shawn Kirchner, whose lyrical settings of pilgrimage psalms, featuring soprano Dana Varga, tenor Jonas Budris, and baritone Sumner Thompson, aim to lift us beyond our divisions to find peace.

The 11th annual Daniel Pinkham Award will be presented to Robin Godfrey, Executive Director of GALA Choruses, an international LGBTQ+ choral organization.

World Premiere:
KAREEM ROUSTOM, Rage Against the tyrant(s)

East Coast Premiere:
