The 78th season of the Masterworks Chorale, led by music director Kevin Leong, continues in March with Maurice Duruflé’s beautiful Requiem performed at historic Old South Church in Boston’s Copley Square.

The venue was chosen for its superb acoustics and grand organ to accompany our featured work.

In addition, we will present other French music for choir and organ: Marcel Dupré’s O salutaris, Francis Poulenc’s Salve regina, Olivier Messiaen’s O sacrum convivium!, Duruflé’s Ubi caritas, and Charles-Marie Widor’s Surrexit a mortuis.

The concert features mezzo-soprano Renée Tatum, baritone Elijah Blaisdell, and organist Ross Wood, formerly Associate Organist and Choirmaster at Boston’s Church of the Advent.

A Pre-Concert Talk by Dr. Laura Stanfield Prichard precedes the concert at 2:30 PM.

Dr. Prichard is a regular pre-concert speaker and writer for the San Francisco and Chicago Symphonies and is the Principal Lecturer for Boston Baroque and Boston Opera.

Our Awareness Through Music charity partner for this concert is Horizons for Homeless Children.

This concert is sponsored by Sandra Shepard.
