Beethoven was inspired by Haydn in writing his Symphony No.

1, and this first symphonic masterpiece introduces Beethoven as a firebrand in the musical world.

Coupled with Haydn’s most energetic symphony, Symphony No.

59, the audience is in for a special treat.

This program’s third piece, Rodrigo’s seldom-heard Suite Soleriana, is filled with melody and inspiration much like his well-known guitar concerto.
