The Cambridge Symphony Orchestra welcomes you to our annual Family Concert: a chance for music lovers of all ages to enjoy a narrated work (Allen Feinstein‘s The Little Engine That Could), an instrument petting zoo, and an audience sing-along to classic songs from The Wizard of Oz.

We are honored to be joined by two special guest stars: Massachusetts State Senator Harriette L. Chandler, our guest narrator for The Little Engine That Could; and cellist Keina Satoh from the New England Conservatory’s Preparatory School, who will perform a movement from Dvořák’s Cello Concerto in B minor with the orchestra.

FAMILY CONCERT: THE LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD Sunday, January 27, 2019
Performances at 2 P.M. and 4 P.M.
Center for Arts at the Armory
191 Highland Avenue, Somerville, MA 02143

Tickets are available for purchase online and, space providing, at the door for: $15 (adult general seating), $5 (children, students, seniors).

CSO family concerts often sell out, so purchase online is safest.

Our Spotlight Partner for this concert is the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston, an organization that works to ignite girls’ passion and power to succeed through positive mentoring relationships with women and enrichment programs that support girls’ healthy development.

The CSO 2018-19 season is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Special thanks to David French Music of Westborough, MA for their generous loan of instruments for our annual petting zoo.

Established in 1975, the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra, Inc.

(CSO) is a 501(c)(3) community music organization presenting classical music to diverse audiences who value great music in an accessible environment.

Our volunteer musicians hail from Cambridge, Somerville and other parts of Greater Boston.
