On the second Saturday and fourth Sunday of each month from May through July, Fresh Beets will bring street food and live music to Bridge Street as part of its Kerouac Park Concert Series.
The concerts will be held May 8, May 23, June 12, June 27, July 10 and July 25 at Kerouac Park, with music from 1 to 4 p.m. In the event of rain, concerts will be pushed back one week.
Musical artists that will be featured at the kickoff show Saturday include Haitian-American singer-songwriter Dom the Composer, R&B rock band Midnight Harvest and the UMass Lowell Blues Ensemble.
The Fresh Beets food truck will have food available for sale, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnic and blanket to enjoy the entertainment.
The free concerts are made possible by support from the Lowell Cultural Council, Massachusetts Cultural Council and Lowell Special Events Department and are designed to be family friendly, accessible, socially distant and inclusive.

Starting this month, the city is also planning a series of pop-up markets on the third Saturday of each month through the summer, according to Lowell Director of Economic Development Christine McCall.
The portion of Palmer Street from Middle Street to Merrimack Street will be closed to vehicular traffic for the markets, which will include local vendors, artists and live entertainment.
The markets will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on May 15, June 19, July 17 and Aug. 21.
