The streets surrounding West Concord Village will once again fill with music for the third annual West Concord Porchfest on September 24, 2023 from 1-5 pm (postponed from 9/23 due to rain).
Porchfest is a free, all-ages grassroots community music festival. Porchfests have become a community-building tradition across the country as musicians, story tellers, poets and anyone with a talent performs on porches, driveways and stoops.
More than four dozen live acts in your neighbors' yards, within walking distance of West Concord Village.
New: This year we'll offer an Acoustic Village for the minimally amplified acts. And as in the past, culinary delights from your favorite West Concord vendors.
Acts—including bluegrass, classical, a cappella oldies, and progressive rock—are already signing up to perform; the full slate of performers will be announced in September.
Created by the West Concord Junction Cultural District Committee, a group of citizen-volunteers dedicated to promoting arts and culture in West Concord, the West Concord Porchfest is co-sponsored by the Concord Recreation department.
The event hub will be the parking lot of the Harvey Wheeler Community Center (park in the MBTA commuter lot), where vendors including Debra’s Natural Gourmet (sandwiches) and Reasons to Be Cheerful (ice cream) will sell their wares. Enjoy a sandwich or ice cream cone and grab a map to guide you around the neighboring streets to hear live music throughout the afternoon.
