Join an outstanding global cast of Berklee students for a unique musical experience celebrating the prolific career of singer-songwriter, bassist, activist, actor, and philanthropist Sting ’94H and his diverse and brilliantly crafted body of work as solo artist and principal songwriter in the Police, one of the most sonically distinctive, dynamic, and bestselling rock bands of all time.

Produced by Maureen McMullan ’09, this genre-spanning concert will showcase a powerful collective of singers, instrumentalists, arrangers, track producers, dancers, visual artists, and special guests, who will bring to the stage their artistry, culture, and inventive, fresh arrangements of flagship songs that continue to resonate with people around the world.

Songs to be performed include “Message in a Bottle,” “Walking on the Moon,” “Roxanne,” “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” “King of Pain,” “Every Breath You Take,” “Don’t Stand So Close to Me,” “Synchronicity II,” “Fields of Gold,” “Fragile,” “Englishman in New York,” “Seven Days,” “If You Love Somebody Set Them Free,” “Brand New Day,” “Bring on the Night,” “Until,” and “Shape of My Heart.”

Born Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner in Newcastle, England in 1951, Sting has received 17 Grammys and sold over 100 million records worldwide as a solo artist and member of the Police.

A Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, Sting is also a recipient of a Billboard Century Award, a Kennedy Center Honor, a Golden Globe, the Ivor Novello Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Polar Music Prize, an Emmy, and four Oscar nominations for Best Original Song.

In 2003, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Police, and in 2019, “Every Breath You Take”—a signature song for both the Police and Sting—received a BMI Award for becoming the most-played song in radio history.

Currently on the last stretch of his My Songs Tour, having performed close to 200 shows around the world in support of his 13th studio album of the same name, Sting recently became the latest high-profile artist to sell his back catalog, in a deal with Universal Music Publishing Group, comprising both his solo work and his songs with the Police, citing, “not only to connect with longtime fans in new ways but also to introduce my songs to new audiences, musicians, and generations.”

This performance will be signed in American Sign Language.
