If your child is looking for a great place to play their instrument, perform in concert, and socialize with other young musicians who enjoy playing as much they, then NMYO is the perfect place!

String musicians, with at least one to two years of lessons, are invited to audition.

Woodwind and brass students, who have played for at least two years and are taking private lessons, are also welcome.

Get more information, view audition requirements and register for your audition today HERE.

NMYO offers six ensembles this year including two levels of string ensembles, two full orchestras, a wind ensemble for intermediate and advanced winds, brass, and percussion, and a flute choir.

NMYO ensembles will perform at least one concert this spring semester.

Symphony Orchestra musicians present a chamber music concert in March and all of the NMYO ensembles perform in the May Afternoon of Spring Concerts.

The string ensembles will also present a special concert for the Ipswich Council on Aging.

NMYO’s Gold Benefactor and Conductors Circle sponsors are the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Cape Ann Savings Bank, Coburn Charitable Society, Creative County of ECCF, Cummings Properties, Demoulas Foundation, Institution for Savings, and Johnson String Instrument-Carriage House Violins.

ABOUT NMYO: NMYO provides youth musicians with exceptional ensemble training and opportunities for cognitive, social, and personal growth through musical performance and community service.

Led by Music Director Gerald J. Dolan Jr., with an accomplished team of music professionals, NMYO’s 140 musicians come from 40+ towns throughout northeast Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire and participate in one of six ensembles offered by the program this year.

The regular rehearsal and concert schedule is supplemented with master classes, enrichment days, chamber music coaching, and community service outreach concerts to underserved populations.

Rehearsals are held weekly just off I-95 and Route 1 in Topsfield/Boxford.

NMYO is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
