On April 8th at the First Church in Dedham at First Church Saturday Series presents its fifth concert of the 2022-2023 season, Baroque Sonatas for Violin and Keyboard, performed by two internationally famed musicians, violinist Nancy Schechter and pianist/harpsichordist Raisa Isaacs.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door or HERE.

Doors open at 7:00 pm.

Dr. Nancy Schechter has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at music festivals in the United States and Europe, including the Tanglewood Music Festival in Lenox, Massachusetts; the Spoleto Festival of Two Worlds in Charleston, South Carolina and in Spoleto, Italy; The Chautauqua Institute in Chautauqua, New York; the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria; and the Red Lodge Music Festival in Red Lodge, Montana.

She is currently concertmaster of the Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra and the Gwinnett Symphony Chamber Orchestra.

Dr. Schechter also substitutes with orchestras in the Atlanta area and has recently performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and as concertmaster of the Georgia Philharmonic.

She has served as concertmaster of the Valley Symphony Orchestra in Edinburg, Texas, and the Danville Symphony Orchestra in Danville, Illinois, and as Principal Second Violin with the Sinfonia da Camera in Urbana, Illinois.

She has performed on baroque violin with the New Trinity Baroque and the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra.

Pianist, and harpsichordist Raisa Isaacs earned her Doctorate of Chamber Music at Kazan State Conservatory, Russia.

She continued her studies in post-doctoral courses at Moscow Conservatory, Gnesinuch Russian Academy in Moscow and Gorky Conservatory in Nizhni Novgorod, Russia.

As a harpsichordist, she studied at the Collegium of Early Music of Moscow Conservatory; with professors Lucy-Holman Russel (Germany), Edward Parmentier (University of Michigan) and Blandine Verlet (France).

She served as Associate Professor and Head of Collaborative Piano Department at the Ufa State Institute of Arts (Conservatory), teaching chamber music, piano, and harpsichord.

She was Artistic Director and harpsichordist of the 'Early Music Ensemble' of the Ufa State Institute of Arts.

Since moving to the US, she has performed chamber music as a pianist and performs Baroque recitals on period instruments.

First Church and Parish Dedham Unitarian Universalist was first gathered in 1638 and is located in Dedham Center at 670 High Street.

Its lively music program includes church choir at Sunday services, the Parish Players theater troupe, and our Friday Folk Coffeehouses, as well as our Saturday Concerts at First Church.
