Hugh’s wake came at a time where we were all taking pandemic precautions and up until this year the beginning of every season had its pandemic red flags as well.
It feels like this is the first spring where we can really relax and gather together to celebrate the man who was so deeply loved by his family, friends and music community, so let's do just that.
Just like Hugh’s legendary Tuesday night Open Mic or a late evening speakeasy up on Heath Street this event will be open to all.
In classic Kerrville Folk Festival Campfire style, there will be a circle of chairs in the middle of the room so folks can sit down and share stories and songs.
It still doesn't seem real that he's gone.
He will never be forgotton.
Let's get together and celebrate the life of our dear friend in a room that will ring with his energy forever.
