FESTIVAL” will take place at Needham’s Town Hall, 1471 Highland Avenue, from 7-11:00 pm.
This party and celebration will be free (with pre-event online registration), open to the public, and feature four adult bands*, dancing, lite fare, and a cash bar.
Hosted by the Plugged in Band Program,
www.pluggedinband.org, the event will benefit Plugged In’s Scholarship and Inclusion Program.
Last year, the Program awarded $56,670 in partial or full scholarships to 31 students.
For over 20 years, Plugged In has given young people the opportunity to belong to a welcoming, supportive musical community.
Every semester, about 150 school-age students learn how to be part of a rock band in a non-competitive and inclusive environment.
No child is ever turned away, regardless of ability to pay, learning profile, need for extra support or musical experience.
Plugged In organizes the bands and provides rehearsal space as well as seasoned adult instructors.
Students also learn about the importance of giving to the community by performing at concerts that benefit student's chosen charitable organizations.
Most recently, Plugged In’s musical collaboration model has reached musicians and educators around the world, including in the Ukraine!
