Last year's event honored Ray Champagne, who spent more than four decades in prison for a crime he did not commit before finally achieving his freedom and exoneration in 2020.

From the moment of his release until his untimely death on July 12, 2022 in a tragic motorcycle accident, Ray devoted himself fearlessly and generously to developing resources and healing spaces for the growing numbers of people freed from wrongful convictions.

This year's concert theme, Wounded but Not Broken, symbolizes the loss and resilience that Ray, Sean and Victor recognized in themselves and sought to embody in their work supporting others by establishing the Exoneree Network.

Musical guests include the 'Friends of Justice,' a band formed by Innocence Attorney (and Jammin for Justice founder) Jeff Harris, which will perform original songs of exoneration and other tunes inspired by this year's concert theme, and two inspiring musical groups led by exoneree musicians -- 'Peace Players,' led by Milton Jones, and the 'OGs,' led by Joseph Pope and Albert Brown, who will perform tunes that they first wrote and performed together while wrongfully incarcerated for crimes they did not commit.

The event will also include remarks by CPCS Innocence Program Director (and Running for Innocence team co-founder) Lisa Kavanaugh, and Sean Ellis (Exoneree Network co-founder), who will speak about the Exoneree Network's role supporting and building community for those released after long term incarceration.

Concert proceeds will benefit the Running for Innocence fund and the Exoneree Network, with the goal of ensuring that another inspiring group of men and women freed from Massachusetts prisons for crimes they did not commit will have the opportunity to attend the 2025 Innocence Network Conference, just as Ray was fortunate enough to do in 2022.
