Concord Conservatory of Music Presents ‘Music & Identity: Your Listener Profile’ with Guest Lecturer Susan Rogers

Join us for an evening to deepen your understanding of music and your unique relationship with it!

Why do you love the music you do?

As part of its concert and lecture series, Concord Conservatory of Music (CCM) is thrilled to host renowned multiplatinum record producer, professor, and author Susan Rogers for a captivating evening exploring our relationship with music.

The event, Music & Identity: Your Listener Profile, is on Friday, November 22, at 7:30 p.m. at CCM.
Susan Rogers, known for her work with Prince and Barenaked Ladies and her role as a professor at Berklee College of Music, will delve into the science and psychology behind why we gravitate toward certain sounds.

Drawing from her acclaimed book This Is What It Sounds Like: What the Music You Love Says About You, Rogers will introduce the 7 Listening Dimensions that help define your individual listening identity.

This interactive lecture will engage attendees in discovering their own listening profile, making the experience both educational and deeply personal.

The evening will also feature performances by The Adventure Trio, comprised of Rick Stone (alto saxophone), Sean Farias (bass), and CCM faculty artist Brooke Sofferman (drums).

Their dynamic performance will further illustrate Rogers' insights, bringing theory to life through music.

Books will be available for purchase during the event, and attendees can also pre-order copies through the Concord Bookshop.

Reserve your copy and pick it up in advance to get a head start on uncovering your musical identity.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn more about how and why you connect with the music you love and to enjoy an evening of engaging discussion and live performance at Concord Conservatory of Music.

General Admission tickets cost $25, and students 18 and under can attend for free.

Purchase tickets in advance at ConcordConservatory.org or at the door on the night of the event.

The concert is part of the 2024-2025 CCM Concert & Lecture Series, made possible thanks to the generous support of our Lead Sponsor, Emerson Health, and our Music Supporter Sponsor, Newbury Court.

Thanks to our sponsors, we bring diverse, high-quality concerts to our community, and we invite you to join us for this exciting event.
