Wakefield Porchfest is returning for its second year!

This town-wide celebration will feature musical acts hosted at residences and businesses across the community, with a festival atmosphere aimed at celebrating live music and the importance of local music education.

This year's event looks to build on the success of the inaugural Wakefield Porchfest held in September 2024, which featured 105 acts at 50 locations across the North Shore town.

For 2025, there will be 60 hosts featuring 110+ bands.

Wakefield Porchfest is coordinated by a group of volunteers who collaborate with musicians and the residents/homeowners/small businesses who host performances.

Wakefield is known as one of the top communities for music education in Massachusetts and the nation.

In May 2025, the NAMM Foundation named Wakefield one of the “Best Communities for Music Education” in the U.S., the 14th time the community has received that recognition.

The community boasts a strong support network for performing arts and for emerging musicians, sustained by the Town of Wakefield, Wakefield Public Schools, Wakefield Music Boosters, The Wakefield Performing Arts Department, Children’s Playhouse of Wakefield, the Wakefield High School Marching Band, and other local organizations.
