THE HONEY STEELERS ARE A LOWELL-BASED AMERICANA BAND PLAYING ORIGINAL TUNES AND REIMAGINED COVERS FROM ARTISTS LIKE ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL, RAY CHARLES, JOHN PRINE, LUCINDA WILLIAMS, BOB DYLAN, AND THE BEATLES.THEIR BLEND OF COWBOY SWING, COUNTRY ROCK, FOLK, AND BLUES FEATURES SWEET HARMONIES, ROTATING VOCALS, AND SOLOS ON PEDAL STEEL, MANDOLIN, GUITAR, AND KEYS.
THEY’LL HAVE YOU STOMPING YOUR FEET ONE MOMENT AND HUMMING A LULLABY THE NEXT—OFTEN WHILE LAUGHING AT THEIR ON STAGE BANTER.
SMART, SOULFUL, AND JUST A BIT GOOFY, THE HONEY STEELERS TURN ANY VENUE INTO A FRIENDLY BARNYARD BASH.
BOB SEVIGNY - GUITAR, BASS, & VOCALS Bob's been pickin' the guitar and singing in local Northeast bands for more than two decades now.
Mostly in the Americana/bluegrass/oldtime styles.
He once spent five years driving a tractor trailer around and is fond of the outdoors and fine cheeses.
MICKEY ROACHE - PEDAL STEEL, MANDOLIN, GUITAR &VOCALS Never met a guitar he didn’t like.
Currently also playing in a Steely Dan coverband called The Nightflies.
RISA LAVELLE - KEYBOARDS, OCTAVE MANDOLIN, & VOCALS As a young girl, Risa dreamed of being Carole King’s doppelgänger.
With her hands on the keys and her wild curls dancing to the beat, the the stage feels like home.
She played with The Dandelion Surfers before joining The Honey Steelers and spent years performing musical theatre in New York City and the Boston Area.
She studied music theory and composition at New England Conservatory, Berklee College of Music, and Brown University.
Risa also performs as a singer/songwriter and is currently working on her first solo album.
HARVEY BAGG - BASS, GUITAR & VOCALS While eschewing both the philosophic epicurean ideal, and the rigors of stoicism, Harvey spends much of his time exploring the neo-Platonic dichotomy.
He also plays the bass, guitar, and ukulele.
Currently Harvey also plays with The Bagg Boys and in the Bluegrass community in the Boston area.
TOM MURRAY - DRUMS
Originally from Worcester, MA, Tom got his start with the band Landslide and later moved to Los Angeles, where he played drums, sang, and wrote songs in a great band called 'Aileen Quinn and The Leapin' Lizards'.
Aileen is the twice Golden Globe nominated and multi- platinum selling singer and actor who played 'Annie' in the original 1982 movie.
He also played drums for 13 years with Grammy nominated hit makers 'We Five', who had a million selling hit single 'You Were On My Mind'.
He has recorded drums and vocals on album releases by 'Aileen Quinn and The Leapin' Lizards', the band 'STAND', 'Rattle Ok', 'Slavin' Dave and Loose Gravel”, Christopher Burgan, Elizabeth Carlisle and Greg Smith Band.
Tom has shared the stage with Duke Levine, Meredith Brookes, 'Young Dubliners' co-founder, Paul O'Toole, members of the LA band Venice, Sean Finnegan (Etta James), and many more wonderful musicians.
