Timeless song meets rustic charm in a program of soulful storytellers, idyllic atmospheres, and irresistible joy.Einojuhani Rautavaara’s Ballad for harp and strings opens our mind’s eye to the epic stories of ancient days, and Carl Nielsen brings a symphonist’s touch and keen character development to his vivid Wind Quintet.
Rebecca Clarke’s Dumka for violin, viola, and piano taps into the mercurial moods of Eastern European folk music, and Dvořák brings it all together with his Piano Quintet – a work that overflows with the poetry, freshness, and spirit of Czech song and dance.
