Town of Belmont Memorial Day Parade
There will be a Memorial Day Observation Ceremony beginning at 11:00 AM at the Belmont Grove Street Cemetery. Groups will be lining up on Grove Street beginning at 10:00 AM to allow for parade participants to assemble before the Observation Ceremony begins.
The Observation Ceremony, ending at approximately noon, will be followed by a Memorial Day Parade kick-off beginning at the cemetery and ending at the Belmont Veterans Memorial at Clay Pit Pond around 12:45 PM.
Both the Ceremony and Parade are to honor all Veterans for their service to our country.
The parade includes local elected officials, who will march with active duty members of the armed forces and veterans who will either walk or be driven along the parade route.
Marching bands from Belmont High School, and the Chenery Middle School will also perform during the parade.
Local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts Troops and other local community groups will also be participating.
Belmont Fire & Police will have equipment and Color Guards representing their Departments on display.
The parade participants will stop at the Town Cemetery on Grove St for a service and wreath laying ceremony in honor of those from Belmont who died defending the country including the reading of their names.
This is a Community Parade in honor of Memorial Day and to recognize those who have died in service to our country.
