“O, beware, my lord, of jealousy; It is the green-ey'd monster'!

Othello, one of William Shakespeare’s great tragedies, is brought to life at Bird Park by the glorious Gazebo Players of Medfield.

Sit back and enjoy this talented troupe as they perform the bard’s tragic tale of Othello, a powerful general of the Venetian army, whose life and marriage are ruined by a conniving, deceitful, and envious soldier.

This 2-hour revelry will be held at the Music Court (stone stage) on Vista Field on both Saturday, August 4 and Sunday, August 5.

The August 5 production is part of Bird Park's Summer Sunday series, a variety of engaging, family-friendly performances and live wild animal shows every Sunday, July 8 – August 12.

Crescent Ridge Dairy sells ice cream at the Sunday shows.

Seating is informal, so please bring blankets or chairs for your comfort.

Picnics welcome!

Price: FREE.

Largest parking lot is on Polley Lane (can use '135 Polley Lane, Walpole, MA 02032' fro GPS).

If it rains, the performance will move to the Walpole Footlighters Playhouse (2 Scout Road, East Walpole).

The Gazebo Players of Medfield will also be performing at two other Trustees properties — Rocky Woods Reservation in Medfield on July 21 & 22 and Powisset Farm in Dover on July 28 and 29.

Performance times are the same at all venues.

The Gazebo Players' production of Othello is made possible by grants from the Medfield Cultural Council and the Walpole Cultural Council, both of which are supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

The Walpole performances are also co-sponsored by the Walpole Footlighters, and the Medfield performances are co-sponsored by Needham Bank.

The Trustees supply additional sponsorship.

The sound system is provided courtesy of MEMO.
