family puppet comedy festival with puppet showplace photoLaughter is the best medicine! Join puppeteers from across the country for a one-of-a-kind weekend of silliness, fun, and hilarity April 9-11, 2021. Enjoy Father Goose's Tales; Uncle Ty-Rone's World, The Perils of Mr. Punch, and The Three Little Pigs.

Father Goose’s Tales
By Nappy’s Puppets
EVENING KICK-OFF SHOW!
Friday, April 9 | 7:00 pm ET

There’s trouble in the nursery! Mother Goose has taken the night off, and Father Goose must tell all of the bedtime stories. Father Goose’s Tales is a hilarious modern adaptation of favorite nursery rhymes and children’s songs brought to life with masterful shadow puppetry. A delightful show for audiences of all ages! Recommended for all ages 4 and up.

Uncle Ty-Rone’s World
By Uncle Ty-Rone the Kids Comedian
BOSTON PREMIERE!
Saturday, April 10 | 11:00 am ET

Uncle Ty-Rone welcomes families into his inspiring, creative, and VERY funny world for an interactive introduction to the art of ventriloquism. We’ll meet Raggz the K-9 Superstar, help Baby T-Rex learn his ABCs, and even see a character built before our eyes.

Along the way, we’ll learn tips for voicing characters, see how “Ventriloquppets” are engineered, and learn how puppetry inspired Ty-Rone’s lifelong love of learning. RSVP and save your spot for this exciting Puppet Showplace debut! Recommended for all ages 4 and up.

The Perils of Mr. Punch
By Modern Times Theater
Saturday, April 10 | 3:00 pm ET

Follow the troubles and travails of Mr. Punch, puppetry’s favorite loudmouth, in this ever-evolving saga by Modern Times Theater. Mr. Punch has kept busy during the pandemic: frolicking with his wife Judy, juggling childcare responsibilities, subduing crocodiles, and training his dog (who looks suspiciously like a skunk).

Performed on an elaborate stage that’s full of surprises, audiences will enjoy classic hand puppetry with vaudeville flair and a modern family-friendly sensibility. Live music (played on everything from the ukulele to the bicycle pump) accompanies the hilarious journey. Recommended for all ages 4 and up.

The Three Little Pigs
By Puppet Art Theater Co.
BOSTON PREMIERE!
Sunday, April 11 | 3:00 pm ET

Three pigs strike out on their own looking for fun and adventure, but their plans get put on hold until they can build houses for themselves. Straw, sticks, bricks, and a huffing and puffing Big Bad Wolf add up to hilarity and mayhem in this comedic adaptation of the classic tale. Puppeteer Art Grueneberger’s loveable goofy characters and impressive solo performance combine with new special effects for the virtual stage. Stick around after the show to meet the characters and get behind-the-scenes inspiration! Recommended for all ages 3 and up.
