Set at the height of the Renaissance, Something Rotten! tells the story of Nick and Nigel Bottom, two writers who are desperate to write a hit play but feel stuck in the shadow of the beloved Shakespeare.

When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s first musical.

Its satirical style of humor, its Renaissance aesthetic, its catchy musical numbers, and its memorable characters make Something Rotten! an immersive joy without a dull moment.

At the end of the day, it’s a big love letter to musical theatre.

Underneath all the silliness, Something Rotten! wholeheartedly and hilariously encourages us: to thine own self be true.
