Boston public media producer GBH is launching of a new series of events at the GBH Studio in the Boston Public Library’s Newsfeed Café at the Central Library in Copley Square.

The events, which will feature local artists and community members, welcome individuals and families to the studio for an entertaining experience.

All events are free and open to the public. The new series includes:

Lounge Thursdays celebrates Boston’s diverse art, music and culture. On the fourth Thursday of the month from 6-7pm, the community is invited to enjoy performances by local artists.

Press Play Saturdays invites kids and their families to “press play.” Every fourth Saturday of the month from 11am-12pm, families can kick off their weekends with a morning of enriching entertainment. The event will include screenings of popular GBH Kids shows, coloring materials, and appearances by special guests from around the community.

The GBH Studio at the Boston Public Library opened in 2016 and currently serves as GBH’s audience-accessible studio space.

The area includes live and recorded broadcasting capabilities, serves as an intimate event space and is home to the Newsfeed Café. This versatile satellite space is unique within the public media system.

In addition to Lounge Thursdays, Outspoken Saturdays and Press Play Saturdays, the GBH Studio at the Boston Public Library will continue to produce its long-trusted and engaging programming on a regular basis, including:

● Boston Public Radio - Hosts Jim Braude and Margery Eagan broadcast live every Tuesday and Friday from 11am to 2pm.

● The State of Race - Produced in partnership with GBH, GBH WORLD, NAACP Boston Branch and The Boston Globe, these in-person and virtual forums about race and racial inequality take place monthly.

● BPR After Hours - Boston Public Radio will host a quarterly evening program from 6-7:30 p.m. Jim Braude and Margery Eagan will host the show featuring a special guest each quarter. The event will invite audience members into the space to listen to the conversation and enjoy a complimentary drink from the Newsfeed Café.

● The FRONTLINE Dispatch - Quarterly, GBH’s investigative journalism series FRONTLINE will record an episode of its podcast series for an audience. Raney Aronson-Rath, FRONTLINE’s editor-in-chief and executive producer, will be in conversation with a special guest to discuss the latest FRONTLINE investigations as well as FRONTLINE’s 40th anniversary.

Additional programming will continue to be introduced often. A calendar of upcoming events can be found here.
