The Roxbury Center for the Performing Arts (RCPA) is pleased to present, SANKOFA.This powerful production honors the history and heritage of the African diaspora, starting in African kingdoms, to the Middle Passage, slavery and Reconstruction, the Civil Rights Movement, and more.
Through dance, song, and spoken word, SANKOFA brings these stories to the stage and celebrates the resilience, strength, and accomplishments of the Black community throughout history.
We are confident that this experience will be enriching and inspiring for everyone, offering a deeper understanding of Black history and culture.
More About The Roxbury Center for the Performing Arts:
For over 50 years, RCPA has been a cornerstone of cultural education in Boston, serving both youth and adults, including senior citizens, with classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and modern dance.
Our mission is to provide a community-based performing arts space where local youth can learn the art and discipline of dance, pursue careers in the arts, and develop valuable life skills through performance.
