Join us on Sunday, August 28, 2022, for the Walk for Research!

Enjoy a four-mile walk through Newton, MA. The walk proceeds benefit the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) and their mission to End ALS.

The ALS TDI Walk for Research invites the community to come together and raise crucial funds for ALS research while paying homage to the town of Newtown, where ALS TDI originated.

In 1999, after his brother Stephen had been diagnosed with ALS at age 29, Jamie Heywood founded ALS TDI – the world’s first nonprofit biotech company – in the basement of his family's Newton, MA home to bring effective treatments to people living with this disease.

Today, ALS TDI is the most comprehensive drug discovery lab dedicated solely to ALS research.

And although Stephen has since passed, the same sense of hope and family drives every decision made in our lab.

At the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) we’re working every day to discover treatments for ALS – but as a nonprofit biotech, we need your support to fund our work.

One way you can help is by being a part of the ALS TDI Walk for Research.
