Tours, Journal Making Workshop
Perfect for young writers, thinkers, makers and dreamers, ideal for ages 8+

Get out of the house during February Vacation week and visit the Old Manse to learn more
about the creative men and women of all ages who thought, wrote, painted and sketched at this
National Historic Landmark, then create a journal to record your own thoughts.

Hidden Writing Tours
This tour will reflect on the ways that residents of the Old Manse recorded their ideas and experiences. In these 40-minute, family-oriented tours we'll see writing on window panes, drawings in the attic, and have the chance to sit at a reproduction of the desk Ralph Waldo Emerson used to write Nature. (40 minutes each, tour size limited,Please register online for tour time).

Drop-In Journal Making
At this workshop, you'll start by sewing together blank pages to create the inside of your journal, then finish by decorating the cover. Your journal will be a place where you can record your own thoughts about the people, places, and events that you experience or create stories or sketches of your own imagining.

The workshop and tours are designed as complimentary activities, and visitors are welcome to
participate in one or both.
