The Company Theatre Offers Special Events for February Vacation Week

Shows include Pirate Song, Mary Poppins, Mary Poppins Returns and Professor Wow’s Fun-Believable Science Show

'Pirate Song” Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Not content singing the pirate songs that have been passed down for generations, Paulette the Pirate, along with her dog Waffle, set off on a worldwide, musical journey searching for her own song. With an original book and music by Scott Test, it showcases eight new songs and features a cast of hand-crafted puppets. Up In Arms will also present puppetry workshops in partnership with the Academy of the Company Theatre.

5-Hour Puppet Building Crash Course
Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Puppetry 101 Workshop
Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020 from 4-6 p.m.

Mary Poppins Double Feature - Wednesday, Feb. 19
“Mary Poppins” 1:00pm & “Mary Poppins Returns” 4:00pm
A practically perfect afternoon with everyone’s favorite nanny. The afternoon starts with the classic original Mary Poppins (1964), starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke, followed by the new Mary Poppins Returns, starring Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda. And if you love “I Love to Laugh,” join Mary and Burt in the lobby between the films for a special performance.

Professor Wow’s Fun-Believable Science Show - Thursday, Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
During Professor Wow’s zany, high-energy show, attendees will experience the fantastic, 12-foot tall “Foam Monster,” the impossible “Balloons in Orbit,” the uproariously funny “TP Wipe Out Challenge,” and the “Super-Colossal Vortex Cannon.” Remember: nothing is impossible as long as it obeys the laws of science!

Alexander Technique Workshop (ages 8-12):
Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Alexander Technique Workshop (teen/adult workshop):
Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020 from 1-3 p.m.

Find an inner balance and sense of ease in the voice. Available through Academy of The Company Theatre, the two-hour Alexander Technique workshops are taught by Katherine Beckvold, a Lyric Coloratura Operatic Soprano, and teach the Alexander technique, a gentle approach that aims to re-educate the mind and the body through a series of movements.
