february vacation week activities at new bedford whaling museum photoKick off 2023’s School Vacation Week at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. The first event – a ticketed movie and craft opportunity – is on Saturday morning (2/18).

Arctic Tale: Movie Time and Craft Saturday, February 18 at 9:30 AM
Experience the adventures of an unlikely pair, a polar bear cub named Nanu and a young walrus named Seela, as they grow up in their frozen homeland.

This showing of Arctic Tale* highlights the everyday lives of these creatures as well as the challenges they face due to climate change.

Afterwards, explore your creativity as we craft a polar bear.

*Age recommendation for Arctic Tale is 7+

Pricing: $18 non-member tickets; $15 member tickets All day admission to the museum is included with the purchase of a ticket.

February Vacation Week
Monday, February 20 - Friday, February 24
Every day from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Daily activities include crafts, take home activity sheets, a trivia game, a viewing of the live camera in the San Diego Zoo Polar Bear habitat, and a book reading.

During the weekdays that follow (2/20-2/24), the museum is offering free activities every morning in the Jacobs Family Gallery (the main lobby/welcome space under the whale skeletons).

Daily activities include crafts, take home activity sheets, a trivia game, a viewing of the live camera in the San Diego Zoo Polar Bear habitat, and a book reading.

Whether kids are into art, science, animals, or simply love to learn there’s something for everyone at the museum this Vacation Week.
