Join us for a celebration of everything Steampunk at the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation in Waltham. This is a city-wide event that celebrates the imagination, history and ingenuity behind Steampunk. For one weekend the city of Waltham is transformed into an alternate reality “trapped in time” where the lines between science fiction and the industrial revolution are blurred to bring guests into an immersible experience like no other!
Visitors enjoy hands on activities, interactive exhibits, vendors, live music and more at this festival celebrating everything steampunk. 'Steampunk' is the science-fiction of the Steam Age.
A sci-fi subculture, steampunk offers a fresh, romanticized view of modern technology by mixing it with Edwardian design. For example: a computer with a keyboard made from a 19th century typewriter.
Visitors may explore a time machine, attend author readings, participate in Victorian dances, try on steampunk inspired clothing, or visit any one of the interactive displays.
Those arriving in costume may participate in a live action role playing game or take the runway in the masquerade completion. Interactive exhibits will introduce children to steampunk including a Victorian machine area, video games, and crafts.

From I-95/Route 128, take exit 26 (Route 20 east). Follow Route 20 east for approximately 1.6 miles, and before Waltham Common turn right onto Moody Street. Turn left at the second traffic light onto Pine Street. Turn left into the City of Waltham Municipal Parking Lot. Park your car and cross the footbridge over the Charles River. Take a right on the brick walkway and proceed to the museum entrance at the end of the walkway.
