The Boston area community is warmly invited to join the Boston-area Jewish Education Program (BJEP) for the first event celebrating our 50th anniversary year in 2017-2018.

Hear a dynamic panel discuss their backgrounds and how their lives intersect with the Jewish themes of Giving, Lifelong Learning and Generation to Generation.

Panelists:
Judy E. Garber, MD, MPH: Director, Center for Cancer Genetics and Prevention at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Dr Garber’s research focuses on clinical cancer genetics, in particular the genetics of breast cancer.

Among her many advisory roles, Dr Garber serves on the Executive Committee of the BRCA Founder Outreach Study (begins Autumn 2017) that will focus on the genetics of those with Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry.

Hank Phillippi Ryan: An on-air investigative reporter for Boston's WHDH-TV, winning 34 EMMYs and dozens more journalism honors.

The bestselling author of nine mysteries, Ryan's also an award-winner in her second profession—with five Agathas, two Anthonys, two Macavitys, the Daphne, and Mary Higgins Clark Award.

Her books are Library Journal's Best of 2014, 2015 and 2016, and SAY NO MORE is an Agatha, Daphne and Mary Higgins Clark Award nominee.

Watch for TRUST ME coming in 2018.

Rabbi Herb Tobin: Principal of Herb Tobin Consulting, a Boston-based firm to help non-profit organizations reach their potential and maximize their financial resource base.

Rabbi Tobin’s roles at Hillel, Jewish day schools and overnight camps, and others, include serving as interim director of development and helping broaden an organization’s philanthropic programs.

A Reconstructionist rabbi by training, he holds a doctorate in theology from Boston University and is a Brandeis alum.
