Unwind with MFA First Fridays, an exciting evening of music, dancing, art making, and more on the first Friday of select months.
Celebrate the reopening of the Arts of Japan galleries and the exhibition “Tender Loving Care: Contemporary Art from the Collection” with art making, gallery talks, a signature cocktail created by the Koji Club, and music from our resident DJ Dayglow.

Join Asako Katsura, Ishibashi Assistant Curator of Japanese Art, for a gallery talk that focuses on Ogata Kōrin's Waves at Matsushima (18th century).
Discover why Kōrin became a professional painter in his forties, what the portrayal of rough seas and shorelines with pine trees traditionally symbolizes in Japanese art, and why this folding screen connects her hometown and Boston.
